Killing Time

So I'm sitting at the local hospital killing time - a typical Wednesday afternoon. Jonathan has PT on Wednesdays and I decided to bring the 'ol laptop with me today. I don't know why I don't do it more often. I don't feel a bit of guilt sitting here typing away and catching up on other blogs. We only live 5 minutes from the hospital (and that's if I hit both stop-lights between here and there) but it just seems silly to drive home and wait. Sometimes I do, but I kind of like sitting here and just enjoying the downtime. (They should put in a tanning bed or something - then I could get that sunkissed look while I waited for my kid. Maybe I'll just go up to the nursery and sit under the bilirubin lights. Do you think it would have the same effect?) Jonathan is such a loudmouth. Every once in a while I'll hear him from way back in the back of the PT room. I never hear the other patients that are back there! But, they all seem to love him here - he's quite the celebrity for some reason. He's such a little charmer and it sometimes takes people awhile to figure out that he's also a little schemer. I'm worried about 1st grade. Some of the teachers are so sweet and compassionate that I think Jonathan would steal their heart and run right over them. We'll see how things go. I'm hoping we get him assigned to his 1st grade teacher a little early so she can be involved in his IEP conference in 2 weeks. I may have to make a few phone calls to make that happen.

The other 3 start PS119 practice today. This is a bible memorization group that meets about twice a year at church. They take a passage of scripture (35-50 verses) and memorize it in script form and then present it to the congregation. Ms. Lisa does a great job with the kids and they have so much fun hiding God's word in their hearts with their friends. They are so excited. I love it too. It's amazing how quickly the kids can get this stuff memorized. While each kid has their own part memorized they also tend to have the entire passage memorized by the time we present it about 7 weeks from now - WORD PERFECT! I have trouble just remembering my cell phone number - let alone 35 verses of scripture!

WHAT'S COOKING?
Eric is bummed but tonight is meatloaf (prepared by my cousin Heather) with corn (maybe I'll cream it) and throw together some mashed red potatoes. I love meatloaf and so do Joseph and Jonathan, so we're excited. The others can just suck it up and eat! I'm a real sweetie!!

Too funny. I, too, am a blog stalker, but we've actually met...in person. Lydia was our US adoption coordinator. Our adoption will be a year old April 16 (welcome home day)...or March 31 (adoption day).
